Our Family
We are all animal lovers at our house and each of us have animal "duties" as we all participate in the caring for our beloved pets. It is a lifestyle for us that we have intentionally chosen. In addition to our canine, we also take care of our cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, several horses and a 1.5 acre catfish pond. Our pond also doubles as a favorite "swimming hole" for lots of area kids and was once used for local baptisms.
Living on a family farm of 87 acres and homeschooling can be hard work, but it gives us lots of freedom to mold our schedule to the needs of our puppies and to eagerly anticipate the arrival of each new litter. Puppies are handled daily by one or all of us which results in very socialized pups. Our adult dogs live all around our home in large yards where they can run, play, dig and bask in the sun, in fact our "dog area" covers several acres. Our adults are health tested as well as vaccinated and dewormed on regular vet schedules. We love to show them off, so schedule a visit and come on over - most people don't want to leave.
We're located in beautiful, rural, southeastern Georgia

Ingredients
2 cups quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup margarine, cut into pieces
4 beef or chicken bouillon cubes
2 cups boiling water
2 cups whole wheat flour
1-1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 cup skim milk
2 large eggs
2 cups grated cheese (optional)
2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray cookie sheets with nonstick cooking spray.
Measure oats into a medium bowl. Top with pieces of margarine and the bouillon cubes. Pour in boiling water and let sit 10 minutes to dissolve the margarine and bouillon cubes. Mix well, then add whole wheat flour, cornmeal, sugar, milk, eggs and optional cheese. Add enough of the all purpose flour to make a stiff dough. Mix well, using hands if necessary.
Roll out dough. The thinner the dough, the crisper the baked treats will be. Use bone or cat shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies. Bake on prepared cookie sheets until hard, 5-15 minutes depending on how thin the dough is rolled. Remove from cookie sheets and cool completely.
